Our priorities

A major challenge of our time is how to sustainably meet the food and nutritional needs of a growing world population. This will demand that we all do more with less, maximizing the efficient use of our natural resources, and incorporating the more recent technologies, innovations, and best practices across all our food production systems.

The guidelines for our sustainability strategy start with the Board of Directors, guided by the Sustainability Committee, executed by our operations, and monitored by Sustainability.

Using the materiality process deployed in 2022, we defined the following three sustainability pillars, each of which will have targets and an annual investment and improvement plan.

  • Focus on our Supply Chain
  • Natural Production Pillars
  • Social Responsibility

Multiple stakeholder involvement

We are members of the Paraguayan Sustainable Meat Board (MPCS), a multi-stakeholder group with members from across the production chain – industry segments, livestock ranchers, meat packers, NGOs, Academia, international cooperation agencies, and government agencies to debate ideas, generate learnings, and jointly search for solutions to build a sustainable animal protein chain that respects people and the environment.
